M.C. Dean and QTS executives recently gathered at the Modular Mission Critical™ (MMC) manufacturing campus to celebrate milestones in the Power Delivery Module (PDM) Direct Program, and overall continued data center portfolio growth. The program’s expansion builds on nearly 1.2 GW of project scope secured for QTS.
The PDM Direct Program team designed and delivered more than 400 complex power modules, representing 500+ MW of capacity across projects in Richmond, Charlotte, and Atlanta. After establishing standardized production workflows and primary PDM designs, the MMC team scaled manufacturing to meet project schedules.

QTS is capitalizing on M.C. Dean’s ability to complete Level 4 offsite commissioning at the MMC campus, where all power modules are fully built and tested before shipping directly to QTS sites. The PDM Direct Program marks M.C. Dean’s first sale of these modules as standalone products, with onsite installation and integration handled by non-M.C. Dean teams. This approach supports consistent quality and schedule certainty as QTS expands across markets.
“We have invested in lean processes and standardized designs to streamline production to meet our customer’s timeline expectations,” said Mike Keatley, senior vice president of Engineering & Construction (E&C). “To meet growing customer demand, we will more than double our output starting in January 2027.”
M.C. Dean’s scope for the PDM direct program is supported by a cross-functional team from E&C, Integrated Infrastructure & Communications Systems (I2CS), and Automation teams.
“What I value most about M.C. Dean is that their leaders don’t just oversee the work – they’re involved every step of the way,” said a program manager from QTS. “That level of commitment, combined with their expertise and proactive approach, is what sets the company apart.”
